Hi, I'm Dana, the manager of Redwoods, a purpose-built care home situated in the picturesque village of Alness in the Scottish Highlands. I am passionate about providing high-quality nursing care to elderly residents, including those with dementia and associated conditions. Leading a dedicated team, I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for everyone at Redwoods.

Redwoods is nestled within the walled garden of a stunning Victorian country estate, offering a serene and beautiful setting for our residents. I take great pride in ensuring that our well-appointed ensuite rooms and the latest technology are utilized to make residents as comfortable and safe as possible. One of my key achievements has been the development of our progressive secure dementia unit, which complements our existing nursing care facilities, providing a holistic approach to resident well-being.

I believe in the importance of involving residents and their families in all stages of care planning and other aspects of care home life. This inclusive approach ensures that everyone feels valued and heard, fostering a strong sense of community within Redwoods. My priority is to enable residents to retain as much independence as possible, encouraging them to engage in social activities and hobbies in our four spacious lounge and dining areas, as well as in our dedicated activities/reminiscence room.

Under my guidance, our skilled catering team produces high-quality, nutritious meals that residents enjoy in our pleasant communal spaces. Our secure gardens, surrounded by beautiful woods, offer a tranquil retreat where residents can relax, socialise, or even indulge in a spot of gardening, which is a favorite activity for many.
