From Good to Great: Celebrating Our Latest Graduates

After a full year of learning, reflection and development, Meallmore is proud to celebrate the latest cohort of colleagues who have successfully completed the Good to Great leadership programme.

The programme culminated in a series of final presentations, where participants showcased their learning, shared practical improvements from their own homes, and demonstrated how they are applying leadership principles to real-world care settings. It marked not an end point, but a milestone in their continued professional journey.

A Year of Learning, Growth and Confidence

Good to Great is designed to support colleagues who are ready to step into stronger leadership roles, deepen their impact and grow their confidence as leaders within Meallmore. Over the past year, participants have taken part in structured learning, practical projects and peer discussion, all grounded in the realities of working in care.

The programme focuses on developing leadership behaviours, decision-making, communication, accountability and people development, ensuring learning is not theoretical but directly transferable into day-to-day practice across homes.

This year’s cohort represented a broad cross-section of the organisation, with colleagues from Central West, Central East, Aberdeenshire and Highland regions, reflecting Meallmore’s commitment to developing talent across all areas of the business.

Linking Learning to Real Homes and Real Impact

One of the strengths of the Good to Great programme is its strong connection to operational reality. Final presentations reflected real challenges and opportunities within individual homes, from improving team communication and engagement to strengthening quality assurance, resident experience and service delivery.

Participants drew on examples from across the Meallmore portfolio, demonstrating how learning has been embedded into practice and how leadership development directly supports consistency, quality and positive outcomes for residents and colleagues alike.

This approach ensures that learning doesn’t sit in isolation, but actively contributes to the ongoing improvement of homes and teams across the group.

Supporting Career Progression and Retaining Talent

Good to Great plays a key role in Meallmore’s wider learning and development strategy, supporting internal progression and helping colleagues build sustainable careers within the organisation.

By investing in leadership capability, Meallmore strengthens its future pipeline of managers, deputies and senior leaders, while also recognising and rewarding ambition, potential and commitment.

For many participants, the programme has provided clarity, confidence and momentum, helping them take the next steps in their careers with a stronger sense of purpose and direction.

A Culture of Continuous Improvement

The programme aligns closely with Meallmore’s values and long-term vision, reinforcing a culture where learning, reflection and improvement are part of everyday working life.

Good to Great complements wider organisational initiatives, including award-winning training programmes, leadership development pathways and the continued investment in colleague wellbeing and professional growth. Together, these initiatives underpin Meallmore’s reputation for delivering excellent care in great places to live and work.

Recent external recognition and award success across the group further demonstrate the impact of this approach, with leadership, training and development consistently identified as key strengths.

Looking Ahead

As this cohort graduates, attention now turns to how their learning continues to influence teams, homes and regions in the months and years ahead. Graduation from Good to Great is not a conclusion, but a foundation on which further growth, mentoring and leadership development can be built.

Meallmore extends its congratulations to all participants for their commitment, openness and hard work throughout the programme. Their achievements reflect not only personal growth, but a shared dedication to strengthening leadership, supporting colleagues and enhancing the experiences of residents across the organisation.

Good to Great remains a powerful example of how targeted investment in people creates lasting impact, for individuals, teams and the communities Meallmore serves.
