We cultivate a strong sense of community through shared kitchens and spacious lounges, providing ample opportunities for socialisation and the chance for residents to cook their meals when appropriate. Additionally, we offer four self-contained flats, serving as an essential step towards independent living for our residents.
The recent two-day inspection by the Care Inspectorate focused on three key areas:

Inspectors noted the relaxed atmosphere within the home and found all staff to be welcoming and supportive. The use of 'Recovery Stars' - tools that help residents map their recovery progress - was particularly commended, with some being described as 'the best they had ever seen.' Residents were able to articulate their recovery journeys effectively, demonstrating the meaningful impact of these tools in promoting personal growth and independence.

The Oaks boasts a delightful internal courtyard and attractive landscaped gardens, providing charming surroundings for residents to enjoy fresh air and indulge in gardening activities. The property is conveniently situated near local shops and amenities, making it easy for residents to embrace and enjoy the local area fully. Inspectors described The Oaks as 'one of the nicest' homes they had ever visited, noting the high standard of facilities that promote independence and well-being.
Keeping our residents engaged and stimulated is a top priority at The Oaks. Our cinema room is a popular space where residents can enjoy films and socialise with each other. The choice of activities, peer activities, and participation were highlighted as strengths within the home. Additionally, our medication support was noted to be very good and therapeutic to residents' needs, ensuring that each individual receives personalised and effective care.
