The Oaks Care Home is a specialist adult care home in Baillieston, Glasgow, providing high-quality support for adults living with mental health difficulties and complex support needs.
Located on Glasgow Road, The Oaks Care Home offers a safe, welcoming and structured environment where residents are supported to build confidence, maintain independence and enjoy meaningful daily life. Our experienced team provides personalised care focused on dignity, wellbeing, social connection and positive outcomes.
With 33 beds, comfortable ensuite rooms, shared living spaces, landscaped gardens and four self-contained flats, The Oaks is designed to support each person at their own pace. Whether someone requires 24-hour nursing care, specialist mental health support or a step towards more independent living, our team works closely with residents to help them feel safe, respected and in control of their day-to-day life.
The Oaks specialises in supporting adults with mental health needs in a compassionate, person-centred environment. We understand that every resident has their own experiences, routines, strengths and goals, which is why care is built around the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Our team supports residents with daily living, health and wellbeing, confidence-building, social engagement and independence. The focus is always on helping each person feel settled, understood and able to take positive steps forward.
As a specialist care home in Baillieston, The Oaks provides a balance of professional support and everyday living. Residents are encouraged to make choices, stay connected to the local community and take part in activities that support their wellbeing, confidence and sense of purpose.
A key part of life at The Oaks is helping residents build and maintain independence wherever possible. Shared kitchens give residents the opportunity to prepare meals or take part in familiar everyday routines when appropriate, while spacious lounges and social areas help create a strong sense of community.
The home also offers four self-contained flats, which can support residents who are working towards greater independence while still benefiting from the reassurance of care and support nearby.
This focus on independence helps residents develop confidence, maintain skills and feel more in control of their own lives.
Life at The Oaks is shaped around connection, routine and meaningful activity. Residents can relax in the cinema room, enjoy social time in the lounges, take part in activities, spend time in the courtyard or enjoy the landscaped gardens.
The home is also close to local shops and amenities, helping residents stay connected to Baillieston and the wider Glasgow community. Where appropriate, residents are supported to attend appointments, local activities and community events.
At The Oaks, we want residents to feel that they are part of a home where they are known, valued and supported.
My name is Catherine Brockie and I am the Care Home Manager at The Oaks Care Home in Baillieston, Glasgow.
The Oaks is a specialist care home supporting adults living with mental health difficulties, and I am proud to lead a team that is focused on helping people feel safe, supported and able to live as independently as possible.
Before becoming Manager, I worked as Deputy Manager at The Oaks, so this home, our residents and our colleagues mean a great deal to me. Having been part of the team for a long time, I understand the importance of consistency, trust and strong relationships in creating a great place to live and work.
For me, good care starts with seeing the person first. Every resident has their own story, strengths, goals and support needs, and our role is to help them build confidence, maintain independence and feel valued in everyday life.
As Manager, I want The Oaks to continue being a welcoming and supportive care home in Baillieston, where residents are treated with dignity, kindness and respect. I am passionate about supporting our colleagues too, making sure they feel confident, listened to and able to provide the best possible care.
I am proud to be part of The Oaks Care Home and excited to continue building on the great work already happening here in Glasgow.
