Fun-Filled Fundraising Day at Kincaid House Care Home

It was sunshine, smiles and a lot of sponge throwing at Kincaid House recently, as residents, families, colleagues and the wider Greenock community came together for a summer fundraising day packed with activities, entertainment and a huge sense of togetherness.

The event raised an incredible £1775 for the residents’ fund – every penny of which will go towards supporting enriching activities, day trips and wellbeing experiences for the people who live at Kincaid House Care Home in Greenock.

From the moment the first visitors arrived, the garden was buzzing with music, laughter and a warm Meallmore welcome.

Highlights from the Day

The team created a joyful atmosphere for all ages, with:

  • Live music performances that got toes tapping
  • Face painting and games for children and grandchildren
  • A popular raffle, packed with prizes donated by generous local businesses
  • Plenty of home-baked treats and refreshments
  • And of course… the much-loved “Splat the Manager” – where residents and families queued up for a go at soaking senior staff with sponges!

The event showcased not only the team’s creativity but the strength of local support – with families, friends and community members all turning out to join the fun and contribute to a great cause.

“A Day to Remember”

Anne Gardner, Home Manager at Kincaid House, said:

“This was a day that really showed what Kincaid House is all about – community, joy, and doing something good together. Seeing our residents having fun with their families, meeting new people, and enjoying the sunshine was just brilliant.
I’d like to thank every single person who supported us, whether you donated a raffle prize, baked a cake, or simply turned up with a smile. You’ve helped raise over £1775 – and every pound will make a real difference to the experiences we can offer our residents.”

Assistant Manager Alison also stepped up in style for “Splat the Manager”, taking it all in good humour as she helped keep spirits (and sponges) flying.

The fundraising day was a perfect reflection of Meallmore’s values in action:

  • Creating welcoming environments – bringing generations together in a warm and inclusive way
  • Acting with accountability – ensuring all funds raised are used directly to enhance resident wellbeing
  • Recognising colleagues – celebrating the brilliant Kincaid team who made the event possible
  • Engaging in continuous improvement – fundraising is just one way we keep looking for ways to add joy and meaning to life in our homes

Kincaid at the Heart of the Community

Thank you again to everyone who came along and helped raise £1775. We can’t wait to put that money to good use – and we’re already looking forward to our next big celebration.
