Redwoods Care Home in Alness has received positive Care Inspectorate feedback, recognising compassionate care, strong teamwork and a warm, homely environment.

Greenan Manor has teamed up with a business from Arran to treat its residents to a special spa experience.
The first treatment day was hosted at Meallmore Group’s Greenan Manor, as part of the care home’s ongoing work to provide high quality tailored activities for residents. It was supplied in partnership with ARRAN Sense of Scotland.
The partnership is now a regular part of the activity schedule available to all residents. In the first session, Greenan Manor residents each had a 20-minute treatment, devised to provide ultimate comfort and relaxation. Prior to the day, the home’s activities team spoke with the residents individually to plan and customise their special session. Treatments included a back, neck and shoulder massage; an Indian head massage; a foot massage; a hand and arm massage; and a traditional reiki session.
Greenan Manor Care Home Manager, Elaine Hughes, said: “It was a wonderful treat for our residents at Greenan Manor. Everyone clearly felt very zen after their treatment and thoroughly enjoyed discussing their therapy at the afternoon tea.
“Everyone at Greenan Manor is very grateful for the opportunity to experience such a treat from community partners at ARRAN. We hope we can host another day like this for our residents and staff very soon.”

Greenan Manor resident, Bill McMillan added: “The spa experience was a lovely day, and everyone had great fun. I’m looking forward to the next spa day already!”
Head of Marketing & Ecommerce at ARRAN Sense of Scotland, Claire Logan, commented: “We are delighted to contribute some of our island-made products to support Greenan Manor with their Spa Day, helping to transport their residents to our beautiful island home. Our local communities are at the heart of our brand so we are happy we could help Meallmore with this amazing activity.”
