Finalists at the Care Home Catering Awards 2025

At Meallmore, we believe that exceptional care extends far beyond healthcare - it’s about creating a home. One of the most important ways we achieve this is through our hospitality and catering, ensuring that every meal served is not just nutritious but also enjoyable, comforting, and tailored to the needs of our residents.

That’s why we’re delighted to announce that Meallmore has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Care Home Catering Awards 2025! Our Meallmore Catering Teams in have been recognised in the Care Home Catering Team of the Year category, and we’re also proud to be a finalist for Group Care Home Caterer of the Year.

This national recognition is a huge milestone for Meallmore and a true testament to the innovation, dedication, and passion of our hospitality and catering teams across our homes.

A Year of Growth and Recognition

2024 has already been an exciting year for Meallmore. In January, we celebrated the opening of Kelvinside Manor, our newest care home in Glasgow, designed to offer luxury residential, nursing, and dementia care. Later this year, we will open Pitfodels Wood in Aberdeen, a state-of-the-art care home designed to set a new benchmark for quality in care.

Being recognised at a UK-wide level for our hospitality and catering services highlights just how far we have come in creating exceptional dining experiences that place residents at the heart of everything we do.

But at Meallmore, it’s not just about great food - it’s about creating memorable experiences, meaningful engagement, and a sense of community.

Putting Residents at the Heart of Hospitality

Every meal at Meallmore is about more than just nutrition - it’s about bringing joy, fostering connections, and ensuring that mealtimes are a highlight of each day.

From daily menus tailored to resident preferences and dietary needs to engaging food competitions and events, we are always finding new ways to make our catering offer stand out in the care sector.

Our team has introduced resident-focused initiatives like:

  • Come Dine with Me – A fantastic in-house dining experience where residents enjoy voting for their favourite dishes, helping to shape their own menus
  • Meals Mean More – Our own take on Masterchef, with Chefs from across the Meallmore Group competing the win the coveted Meals Mean More Award.
  • Shots & Smoothies Competition – Encouraging creativity in nutritious and fun drinks, offering refreshing options to support hydration and nutrition in an exciting way.
  • Annual Chefs’ Conference – Bringing together our talented chefs to share ideas, explore new techniques, and continuously develop their skills and expertise.

Innovation and Excellence in Care Home Catering

Meallmore’s approach to catering is constantly evolving. We work with our teams to innovate, develop, and refine our offerings, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of care home hospitality.

Our chefs and hospitality teams go beyond traditional care catering, ensuring that:

  • Meals are visually appealing and restaurant-quality, making dining enjoyable.
  • Texture-modified diets are just as delicious, creative, and well-presented.
  • Personal preferences are respected, ensuring every resident enjoys meals they love.
  • Special events and celebrations bring excitement to mealtimes throughout the year.

Every chef at Meallmore is committed to providing variety, flavour, and quality, while also ensuring that every dish meets individual dietary needs. This personalised approach is one of the reasons we have been recognised at a national level.

Our Commitment to Learning, Growth, and Development

One of the key reasons behind Meallmore’s success is our commitment to ongoing training and professional development for our chefs and catering teams.

Through initiatives like:

  • The Annual Meallmore Chefs’ Conference – An opportunity for our chefs to come together, share best practices, and learn from industry leaders.
  • Specialist training in dementia-friendly dining – Ensuring that residents living with dementia receive meals in a way that enhances their experience.
  • Innovation workshops – Sessions focused on nutrition, presentation, and culinary techniques to keep our offerings fresh and engaging.

Our catering teams are constantly learning, growing, and improving—and this is what sets Meallmore apart.
