Grove Care Home is located in the village of Kemnay, around 16 miles from Aberdeen, and offers a welcoming environment where care is shaped around the individual. The home is intended to feel calm, familiar and genuinely supportive, helping residents feel comfortable while maintaining as much independence, dignity and routine as possible.

Our colleagues take time to understand each resident as a person - their care needs, personal history, routines, relationships, interests and the things that help them feel secure and at home. Individual care plans help ensure support is responsive, personal and able to adapt if needs change.

The home offers 24-hour nursing care, personalised dementia care and short-stay respite care, with families welcome to be involved in discussions and decisions where appropriate.

Our highly skilled catering team takes pride in serving delicious and nutritious meals across three spacious lounge and dining areas, giving residents plenty of opportunities to socialise or enjoy quieter moments. A diverse activities programme is tailored to individual interests, helping residents maintain independence and stay engaged.

Grove has 40 en-suite bedrooms and provides nursing care, dementia care, residential care, respite and short stay care and palliative care. Because all of these are provided under one roof, residents whose needs change over time can usually stay in the home and with the team they know.

Working with families

Home Manager Isla Cowe and the team keep families involved from the first enquiry onwards. Care plans are written with the resident and, where appropriate, the people closest to them, then reviewed as needs change. Visitors are welcome, and you are encouraged to look around properly, meet colleagues and ask whatever you need to ask before making a decision. What you pay depends on your financial circumstances and the outcome of a local authority assessment. Free personal and nursing care contributions are available to eligible residents in Scotland, and Aberdeenshire Council carries out the financial assessment that determines any contribution towards fees.
