At St Modans, our purpose-built nursing home in Fraserburgh, we provide high-quality personalised care for elderly individuals, including those living with dementia. Additionally, we have a dedicated specialist unit for people with acquired brain injuries.
Designed specifically as a care home, with subsequent extensions, our accommodation offers an excellent standard of living. All our rooms are ensuite, with many featuring disabled access showers. We also provide both public lounges and quiet rooms, giving residents the freedom to choose an environment that suits their mood.
We believe in the importance of offering a variety of activities to our residents, as it promotes physical and mental stimulation. From light movement classes to arts and crafts sessions, we strive to keep our residents engaged. Community living is also a priority, and we frequently host visits from local entertainers. Furthermore, we have strong connections with the local area, including pet therapy providers and nearby nursery and primary schools.
Our knowledgeable staff regularly organise day trips to local attractions, ensuring our residents have meaningful experiences. Additionally, we always welcome friends and family to join us in special events.
At St Modans, our positive care approach focuses on promoting independence. That's why we actively encourage residents and their families to be fully involved in all stages of care planning, as well as other aspects of care home life.
I have worked with Meallmore since 2012, starting out as a carer and working my way up to my current role thanks to the fantastic support given to me by the company. I’m passionate about ensuring the wishes of our residents and their loved ones are heard so that my team can provide the very best, person-centred care.
It’s important to me to be a positive role model, which is why one of our major priorities is ensuring that all of our staff are fully supported in terms of learning and development.
Our care home has been designed to a very high standard and we have a separate, specialised dementia unit which enables us to offer a truly tailored care experience for those living with the condition, in secure and comfortable surroundings.
St Modans strives to provide the highest quality of care to our residents and extended family members. We work closely with the local community health professionals to ensure our staff are supported and confident in providing care and are up to date with best practice standards.
Many of our staff are also local to the area, meaning there is a great team culture within the home and it is a pleasure to work with such a group of dedicated professionals.
We have taken great care to make St Modans a very homely place to live, and this is complemented by our social spaces and comprehensive activities programme, ensuring a social experience for residents and enabling them to continue enjoying their favourite hobbies. The activities we provide are engaging and fun and our staff also like to join in whenever possible!
