A Milestone Achievement

Winning the Group Care Home Caterer of the Year Award is a significant milestone for Meallmore, highlighting our commitment to providing exceptional care and culinary experiences for our residents. This award reflects the hard work and creativity of our entire team, from chefs to support teams, who strive to ensure that every meal is not only nutritious but also delicious and tailored to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents.

Jody Marshall, our Group Hospitality Manager and Scottish Chair of the NACC, shared his excitement about this recognition:

"This award is a proud moment for Meallmore. It validates the relentless efforts of our catering teams who consistently go above and beyond to make every meal special. Our focus has always been on creating a warm, homely environment where food plays a central role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
As someone deeply passionate about care catering, I have always believed that our role extends far beyond just preparing meals. We are creating moments of joy and comfort, and this award underscores the importance of our work. Being recognised by the Care Home Catering Awards is a testament to the dedication, innovation, and tireless efforts of our entire team. Since joining Meallmore in 2019, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible impact that a well-crafted meal can have on our residents' well-being. It's about more than just nutrition—it's about fostering a sense of community, bringing smiles to faces, and making every dining experience a memorable one. This achievement inspires us to continue pushing boundaries, exploring new culinary horizons, and ensuring that every resident feels valued and cared for. I am immensely proud of our team, and this award is a tribute to their hard work and unwavering commitment to excellence."

Our Dedication to Excellence

At Meallmore, we believe that great care starts with great food. Our chefs are dedicated to crafting meals that not only meet dietary needs but also bring joy and comfort to our residents. Each of our homes, from Airthrey Care Home in Airth to St Modans Care Home in Fraserburgh, adheres to the highest standards of culinary excellence.

Our menus are developed with input from residents and their families, ensuring that we offer a variety of choices that are both familiar and exciting. We regularly hold tasting sessions through our Come Dine With Me Program and various quality feedback forums to continuously improve our offerings.

A Focus on Innovation and Passion

Innovation is at the heart of our catering services. We understand the importance of nutrition and the role it plays in health and well-being. Our teams are trained to create meals that cater to specific dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, without compromising on taste or presentation.

One of our standout initiatives is the "Men’s Shed Project" at Daviot Care Home. This project exemplifies our commitment to innovative care, providing meaningful activities that enhance the experience and overall well-being of our residents.

Celebrating Our Homes

Our 26 care homes across Scotland each contribute uniquely to the Meallmore family. Homes like Culduthel Care Home in Inverness and Mearns House Care Home in Glasgow have set benchmarks in hospitality and care, often receiving praise from residents and their families for the exceptional quality of food and service.

A Legacy of Care and Compassion

Since opening our first care home in 1987, Meallmore has grown into one of Scotland’s most trusted care providers. Our "We Care More" ethos drives us to constantly improve and innovate in all aspects of care, including our catering services. This award is not just a reflection of our team's hard work but also a celebration of the trust and support we receive from our residents and their families.

As we celebrate this achievement, we remain committed to our mission of providing excellent, personalised care. We look forward to continuing to set new standards in care home catering and to making a difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you to the Care Home Catering Awards for this incredible honour and to our amazing team for their unwavering dedication. Here’s to many more years of culinary excellence and heartfelt care.

There to collect the award on behalf of Meallmore was Val Hurst, Sophie Murray & Cathy Amos.
