Willow Lodge Care Home is a purpose-built specialist adult care home on Windsor Road in Falkirk. We support adults experiencing or recovering from mental health problems within a safe, welcoming and structured environment.

Our colleagues take time to understand each resident as an individual. This includes their experiences, strengths, mental and physical health, routines, communication preferences, relationships and personal goals.

Individual support plans help ensure care is shaped around the person rather than following a standard pathway. Residents are encouraged to remain involved in decisions about their support and everyday life wherever possible.

The home offers 33 generously proportioned bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, comfortable living and dining spaces, shared kitchens, a multipurpose activity and cinema room and four self-contained flats.

Daily life at Willow Lodge is shaped around stability, choice, meaningful activity and connection. Specialist mental health support in Falkirk

Willow Lodge provides specialist adult care for people experiencing or recovering from mental health problems.

We recognise that every person has their own experiences, strengths, needs and aspirations. Support is therefore developed around the individual rather than expecting everyone to follow the same route.

Our colleagues can support residents with emotional wellbeing, health, medication, daily routines, social connection and practical living skills.

Our recovery-led approach focuses on the resident's strengths, preferences and personal goals while recognising that progress is not always straightforward or linear.

Support should help residents feel safe, respected and more in control of their everyday lives without placing pressure on them to achieve a particular outcome.

Care and support plans are reviewed as needs, circumstances and goals change.

Supporting confidence and independence

Promoting independence is an important part of life at Willow Lodge.

Residents can be supported to develop or maintain practical skills such as cooking, budgeting, planning routines and accessing the local community when this is appropriate to their individual support plan.

Shared kitchens provide opportunities to prepare food and take part in familiar daily tasks with the right level of support.

Our role is to provide reassurance and assistance without unnecessarily taking over tasks a resident can manage safely.

Independence should never be treated as a fixed destination. It is about supporting each resident make choices, retain skills and work towards goals that are meaningful to them.

Four self-contained flats

Willow Lodge has four self-contained flats that can support residents who may benefit from a greater level of independence.

The flats provide a more independent style of accommodation while residents continue to have specialist support and reassurance nearby.

This environment may help someone practise routines, maintain practical skills and build confidence within a familiar setting.

Living in one of the flats is not automatic. Suitability will depend on the resident's needs, preferences, support plan and current availability.

En-suite bedrooms and domestic-style living spaces

Willow Lodge offers 33 generously proportioned bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms.

Residents are encouraged to personalise their bedroom with suitable photographs, decorations and familiar belongings, supporting their private space feel comfortable and recognisable.

The wider living areas have been designed to feel warm and domestic rather than unnecessarily clinical.

Smaller living and dining areas can help create a stronger sense of community while giving residents a choice of places in which to socialise, relax or spend time with visitors.

A balance of private and shared spaces allows residents to follow routines that suit their individual preferences.

Shared kitchens and everyday living skills

The shared kitchens at Willow Lodge provide residents with opportunities to take part in cooking and other practical daily routines when appropriate.

Preparing food can support confidence, choice, planning and a sense of achievement. It can also help residents maintain skills that are important to them.

The level of support provided should reflect the resident's abilities, preferences and individual plan.

Residents should never be expected to use the kitchens or complete tasks solely as part of a programme. Participation must remain meaningful and based on personal choice.

Activities, entertainment and social connection

Meaningful activity can support wellbeing, confidence and social connection at Willow Lodge.

The multipurpose activity room can also be used as a cinema space, providing a comfortable setting for films, entertainment, group activities and shared experiences.

Activities should be shaped around residents' interests, abilities and personal goals rather than following a one-size-fits-all timetable.

Some residents may enjoy group activities and community visits, while others may prefer individual interests, quieter time or spending time with people they trust.

Participation should always remain a matter of individual choice.
